Hidden in Canada's Grand Canyon, on the Stikine River in
Northern British Columbia, is a population of goats which
has adapted to a perpendicular terrain beneath the earth's
surface. Their domain is so
remote and hostile that more humans have walked on the moon
than have traveled its length. Sandwiched between the Rocky
Mountains to the east and the Coastal Range to the west, the
watershed begins quietly in the famed Spatsizi Wilderness
and ends sedately in the Pacific. In the middle is a knife-edged
chasm as deep as the Eiffel Tower, with a 100 km ribbon of
white water raging below...
Written,
directed and produced by Monty Bassett and narrated by actor
Tom Jackson - from North of 60- this piece was filmed
over a year, and captures each season with the goats and their
shaky relationship with an unforgiving and mesmerizing landscape.
It is a timeless piece about British Columbia's last Eden.
